Nurse Aide/Medication Aide – Specialty Clinic

Job Description

Sidney Regional Medical Center is searching for a Nurse Aide to join our TEAM. This role will be responsible for providing direct patient care duties in the Specialty Clinic under the direction of nursing and medical staff. This is a full-time opportunity Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Completes the intake process when rooming a patient.
  • Observes and reports changes in the patient’s status to Provider, RN, or LPN caring for the patient.
  • Assist with setting up auxiliary equipment or procedures as necessary under the direction of a Provider, RN, or LPN, which does not require a license for performance.
  • Answers phone calls, takes messages, removes voicemail messages from workgroup mailboxes and delivers them to the RN or LPN to be addressed.
  • Calls patients regarding appointments and general knowledge information without discussing anything clinically or medically relating to the patient.
  • Employee may be required to learn how to process and sterilize equipment in the clinic.
  • Employee may be required to learn the scheduler role and serve as a backup in scheduling patients, answering phone calls, and assisting in work ques.
  • Attends department staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing work assignments and/or responsibilities.
  • Positive, TEAM-oriented attitude.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to partner with all clinic leaders at all levels.
  • Remain sufficiently knowledgeable about the legal aspects of his or her responsibilities and activities to be able to avoid inadvertent violation of State and Federal statutes and regulations.
  • Expected to comply with applicable laws related to their job responsibilities and refrain from knowingly participate in illegal activities or failing to meet affirmative legal duties.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must successfully complete Certified Nursing Assistant class and maintain registry requirements.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training required.
