Hospice CNA

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for an experienced and organized CNA to join our Hospice team as a Hospice Assistant!

The Hospice Assistant is the primary personal caregiver for patients in their home and in facilities. They are responsible for providing assistance in the areas of activities of daily living as outlined in the client’s plan of care and reporting any changes in the patient to the RN and/or the Director of Clinical Services.

What does a day in the life look like?

  • Complete and record all cares performed on the written care plan.
  • Effectively listen and communicate using verbal, non-verbal, and written skills in a professional, supportive, and timely manner with patients and families.
  • Communicate any changes with the patient in regards to their schedule, care, family or patient concerns, patient needs or questions regarding the patient’s plan of care.
  • Order supplies for each patient on a weekly basis per department procedure.

What should I have to be considered?

  • Must be certified as a CNA in the state of Nebraska.
  • At least two years of experience providing personal care services.
  • At least one year of experience in Home Care or Hospice preferred.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation and carry current automobile insurance.
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association required.
