Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Welcomes visitors, answers phones, answers general non-medical questions and participates in pre-registration duties. Maintains patient confidence and protects hospital operations by keeping information confidential. Assists in registration and dismissal procedures of patients.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Assists in registration and dismissal of patients.

3. *Organizes and maintains pre-registration appointments.

4. *Inputs data into medical systems for tracking and statistical purposes.

5. *Assists with birth certificate process.

6. *Welcomes visitors in person or on the telephone; answers inquiries; relays calls to patients; gives directions; and refers inquiries to nursing and physician staff.

7. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

8. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.

9. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of medical terminology.

2. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

3. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

4. Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes.

5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.

6. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.

7. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.

8. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.

9. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required. Office and/or hospital experience preferred. Medical Background preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required with one (1) year of start date.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
