Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Medication Aide to join our team on an overnight shift, with the potential to transition into a permanent position. The Medication Aide will assist residents by administering medications, monitoring their well-being, and reporting any changes to nursing staff. This role is crucial to ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of our residents throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications to residents following established protocols and under supervision
- Record medication administration in resident charts and maintain accurate documentation
- Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health, behavior, or response to medications to licensed nursing staff
- Assist with basic caregiving tasks as needed, including mobility support, hygiene, and ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)
- Ensure the environment remains safe and sanitary, adhering to infection control policies
- Provide compassionate and respectful care, maintaining residents’ dignity and privacy
- Participate in shift handovers to ensure smooth communication and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a current 40-Hour Medication Aide certification valid in the state of Nebraska
- Experience: Prior experience in a nursing home or long-term care setting preferred
- Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions
