Job Description

Midland University, a private liberal arts college in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking an exceptional nursing faculty member with expertise in basic medical surgical nursing or pediatric nursing for a full-time position in the School of Nursing beginning August 2025.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Teaching course and clinical content to include didactic, clinical, and simulation.
  • Engaging students with innovative teaching practices that foster clinical judgment.
  • Participation in student recruitment and retention.
  • Outcome assessment and data collection to ensure continuous improvement and to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Serving on departmental and university committees that support the Mission of Midland University and the School of Nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the state of Nebraska or Iowa.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), doctoral degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical surgical nursing care or pediatric nursing care.
  • Ability to meet clinical agency requirements, such as a background check, abuse check, drug testing, CPR, immunizations, health care insurance, and etc.
  • Passion for preparing nursing professionals with the knowledge and skills to enter the health care marketplace.
  • Ability to create relevant learning opportunities in the class and clinical setting that meet professional expectations and standards.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Previous teaching experience in nursing education.
  • Familiarity with Canvas or other Learning Management System that facilitates face to face, hybrid, and online teaching modalities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to foster a positive work culture that encourages change and innovation.
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
